Stephen Bitti - Manager
Stephen joins Healthwatch Kingston Upon Thames with over 20 years’ work experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors. He is a Non-Executive Director (Resident Board Member) of Genesis Housing Association and his company Nudge Associates Limited, provides advice and skills development services to the health, wellbeing and development sectors.
Stephen worked for six years as a National Support Team (NST) Delivery Manager for the Department of Health. The NST ran supportive diagnostic assessment visits to local NHS Trusts and Local Authorities throughout England to help areas achieve key Government policy deliverables.
Stephen then headed up a team at MBARC, which was responsible for 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games sexual health programme resilience, transformation and engagement. He was formerly, Chief Executive of the UK Coalition of People Living with HIV and AIDS. He is a founder Director of HIVsport and a Trustee of MADaboutART - a charity that exists to unite children around the world in understanding and fighting HIV and AIDS through art and education.
Stephen is delighted to join Healthwatch Kingston as this fulfils an aspiration to use his experience, skills and competencies to champion local community voices through a London health and social care organisation.
Adelaide Boakye-Yiadom – Projects and Outreach Officer
Adelaide has accumulated experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors and has a background in retail and investment banking and logistics at Unilever.
Most recently, she has worked with service user groups in the Kingston area for the past 15 years. Her roles have included designing a ‘Hospital to Home’ pathway to support vulnerable older patients discharged from hospital and developed a ‘Wellbeing’ project which provided advice, information, advocacy for adult carers. She has also set up and managed an accessible transport network for elderly, frail and disabled local residents.
Adelaide is looking forward to engaging with members of the public and using her skills, knowledge and experience to support the local community to get involved with service development and improvement.
Laila Awda - Projects and Outreach Officer
For the past 8 years Laila has worked within the public sector in the Housing Benefit field, where she enjoyed aiding and empowering the community to navigate and utilise a complex welfare system. She has a BSc in Psychology and years of experience supporting children and young people with a range of special needs within the Royal Borough of Kingston. She has run several marathons and fundraising events to support charities that she is passionate about.
She is excited to listen to, engage and support local people who use Kingston’s NHS and Social Care services in her role as a Projects and Outreach Officer.
